My Love in a Kiss

Eventide did fall from day,
Withdrawn beneath the abyss;
Due fulfillment snatched away, by
My love with a kiss

Past rolling hills and shallow valleys
Turbulent tornadoes twist;
Not one vital elm tree
Did the tempest miss

Riotous rains did branches rip,
Unearthed by roaring winds;
Antiquated shingled roofs
To wasted cabins cling

Doves and deer now hide away
From elemental hiss;
Of times of calm and harmony
Does beauty reminisce

One unforeseen, tender morning
Brought sun, its warming bliss;
Its scarce relief from sorrow, returned
My love in a kiss.
