Shadowed in sleep,
A slumber so deep,
I couldn't awake,
When the planet did quake.
The chirping of birds
Was all that I heard;
I glimpsed no sound
Of hills tumbling down.
The sun rays so bright
They blocked out the sight
Of floods of the sea
Or snapping of trees.
So dazed was I
When I saw the blue sky,
That warning of rain
Was upon me in vain.
Animals feld,
Their instinctive dread;
I should have followed
For a safer tomorrow.
